A lace story

Lace is big news at the moment! The now famous red lace dress seen on the Erdem catwalk sparked off an influx of lace dresses in the stores.

Cartoon capers!

Sometimes, I like to inject an element of fun or 'kookiness' into my outfits - today I felt like a bit of comic relief! Here's my favourite 'Wonder Woman' t-shirt worn with a swirly skirt.
T-shirt from Primark and skirt from H&M.

The comeback... Seventies reborn!

Hi all. After a long long time away, I'm happy to report that I'm back on the blogging scene!
This time I have no excuses as to why there's been a long drought of my 'bloginess' (new word!). So I will just continue as if there's been no break and will be posting hopefully some interesting articles in the coming days, weeks and months etc. In the meantime here's a little something for you to ponder. As the autumn\winter months are fast approaching and the fashion weeks are taking place as I speak and the stores are now stocking their interpretation of trends this autumn\winter, what will we be wearing? I'm definitely loving the 70's trends, the return of deep autumn colours (mustard's, reds, teals and browns), I can't wait to start planning ahead. I have already purchased a few key items that I will be putting towards my 70's look and will be posting images as soon as I can. One of my favourite high end designs - Gucci had a 70s influence in their Fall 2011\2012 catwalk show. I love the long flowing maxi dresses worn with exuberant coloured fur coats!

Wassssssup!

I had been eagerly waiting for my new leather biker jacket which I bought from ASOS Curve. I've never owned a leather jacket and as it was on sale at an unbelievable price, it was the perfect opportunity for me to get one! As soon as it arrived I had a small dilema...what do I wear it with? So, while it took me several days to decide what look would go with the jacket, it stayed hung up in my wardrobe! I'm a little bit crazy and insecure with outfits I put together that sometimes it takes a little time for me to have the confidence to wear it...crazy I know! Anyway the look I eventually put together came about in a sort of random way. I woke up one morning deciding that the jacket had to be worn that day and out of the blue, the look came together!

Handbags and gladrags!

Today, I decided I would have a 'spring-clean'. The sun was out and it felt like a good time to tidy-up the ever expanding wardrobe. Little did I realise what I was letting myself in for! Four hours later, the wardrobe had been reorganised. The only problem was the pile of handbags I had on my bed! Handbags and shoes are one of my shopping weaknesses. With every outfit, I almost always have to have a handbag to go with it. The end result is a huge collection of bags! I will have to consider downsizing my collection as I literally have no room for them. I suppose I will have to give them away to friends\family?
You can see just a small collection of my favourites below.

Plus London 2011 - Party time!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Plus London 2011 bloggers party on saturday evening which was held at the Strand Gallery, London. This  was organised by Lauren of Pocket Rocket Fashion. It was all very last minute for me and I feel extremely lucky to have been invited. Unfortunately I had to miss out on the daytime shopping agenda but the evening party certainly made up for my disappointment! As usual, my only dilema was what do I wear? I will admit to feeling a bit nervous at arriving on my own, but that was short lived as I was offered a glass of champagne on my arrival - that certainly settled my nerves! Everyone I met were soo nice - it was like meeting up with old friends! Whilst drinking the champagne and tucking into the nibles, I had the opportunity to view some of the exclusive previews from Anna Scholtz, ASOS Curve, Carmakoma, H&M, Torrid and Yours clothing. Ooh, there was also a 'pop-up' photo studio - Fashion Loves Photos, I plucked up the courage to pose for a few photos. I hope my nervousness doesn't show in them! I can't wait to see them. Haha. Here are a few photos of the evening.

A photo opportunity!

I'm back!

Hi all, its been a while since my last post. This has been due to a variety of things - a bit of illness, Christmas and New Year hols (happy new year by the way) and of course sheer laziness! But I'm back now with my tail wagging excitedly, eager to show you all what I've been up to fashion wise!

I've been eagerly awaiting the sales and I'm glad to say that my patience has paid off. Thanks to the ASOS, Next and Evans online sales my wardrobe has almost doubled in size! Over the next few weeks I hope to post images of the items I purchased - and maybe me modelling them! Below are a couple of my favourite 'sale' items. Would be interested to know what you think. Please leave me your comments.

60s vibe

Lately, I seem to be loving the 60's fashion vibe. A lot of the stores seem to be reviving this era. From leopard prints to A-line dresses and tunics worn with leggings or opaque tights and flat ballerina pumps. Leopard prints seem to be appearing everywhere - from faux fur coats/jackets to shoes, bags and scarves! I'm still on the lookout for a faux fur leopard print coat. Come on Evans, you recently sold out on a leopard print faux fur coat... you must restock!

Anyway, I just love the 60's A-line dresses with peter-pan collars. They look great worn with plain black opaque tights or leggings and either flat black pumps or tan lace-up brogue shoes - these are my current favourite footwear! I even try to style my hair and make-up with a hint of 60's vibe. Hope you enjoy reliving the 60's fashion trends!

Here, I'm wearing an A-line dress with animal print peter-pan collar. Worn with black leggings and my black bow ballerina pumps. Let me have your comments on this trend.

Biba Fever!

I've been a fan of Biba 60's and 70's fashion for a while and was really excited to find out that Biba had relaunched their range recently. With the realaunch, Barbara Hulanicki's designs do not disappoint. I love the sparkly dresses and of course the animal print faux fur coats! Here's my homage to the Biba maxi dresses of the 70's. This dress is from Evans, but it has elements of the Biba style - long maxi dress, floral print and long buttoned cuff sleeve, and is in a chiffon fabric.

This weeks hot picks!

Hi! Some of you have been asking me to give my 'top pick's on what's out there in 'plus size world'. These are some of the items I've chosen. I have to admit, my favourite picks right now are from the ASOS website. Let me have your opinions on my choices.

My christmas hit list!

Hi all. Lately I must admit I've been feeling a little lazy! I blame it on the sudden cold weather that descended on us recently in the UK. I've been doing as much as I possibly can not to come down with a cold which means wearing many layers of clothing and keeping away from anyone who show signs of even the slightest of sniffles! I have had a little time today to put together my 'Christmas' wish list! Yes I know...dream on, but you never know, Santa may be feeling a little generous this year!

A few of my favourite things

Those of you that know me will know that I am a freak with accessories! I can't get enough of them! I can't go into a store without checking out what they have on offer. The first stage is my hair accessories. I have a vast collection of hairbands and hair clips ranging from your basic Alice bands in various colours to hairbands/hair clips with bows, flowers etc! I just think that hair accessories provide that finishing touch to your look. Here is just a small collection of my accessories!

Flowers

The other type of accessories I love are shoes! Who doesn't? Recent shoe purchases have been flat ballet pumps and of course my tan 'lace-less' brogues. These brogues are sooo comfortable. When I purchased them, I actually asked the shop assistant if the laces were missing! She explained that that's how the style is ...lace-less! Anyway, I wear them with everything!

Faux Fur

New Look (Inspire), £64.99

ASOS Curve, £65
The time has come to be glam! Yes, tis the season to be merry and all that, which means its ...party time!! Along with the many party outfits I'm currently considering on wearing over this joyous party season - watch this space; I've been trying to decide whether or not to get myself a faux fur jacket. I've seen them on all of my favourite online stores, but I didn't really see any that in my opinion were 'drop-dead gorgeous'; that was until I spotted this lovely jacket on ASOS Curve. The jacket is in my opinion priced a little steep at £65, so I'm hoping the gift fairy will be 'gifting' this to me! Here's another alternative I spotted on the New Look website. This is priced at £64.99. OMG, I do have expensive taste!
